Vasilisk - Sixth Darshan (Liberation & Ecstasy, Third Ashram Records, 1998)

After the chaos years, Tomo Kuwabara met Tsuyoshi Suzuki (keyboard) and they started as Vasilisk to create a new sound with another method of musical expression. They were admiring the techno-sound with strong rhythm to create a state of trance like ancient shamans....full of united groove. So they choose the psychedelic trance sound which stimulates their brain directly without any words.

Raksha Mancham - sBas Yul (Prikosnovénie, 1997)

"s'Bas Yul" (or Be Yul), are the "secret lands", the "hidden lands", "the promised lands" of the tibetan's civilization's tradition's countries and of the old cultures from Himalaya. The "sBal Yul" can served as shelters in war-times, disaster-times, proof-times (announced by prophecies), therefore they are kind of heaven on earth. They are sanctuaries located in area hidden by the ice's walls of Himalaya, protected by deep forests and impregnated by mysterious powers. Those hidden lands belong to another reality, they are presents but invisible in the same time.

Phil Von & The Gnawa Musicians Of Fès - L'Autre Nuit (Prikosnovénie, 2001)

"Phil Von realised together with The Gnawa Musicians of Fés a surprising and impressive release. Surprising, because of the idea and the concept to collaborate with other musicians from another culture (even if Phil Von has the same origin). Impressive because he never released such a refined, emotional and inter-cultural piece of music! "L'autre nuit" sounds from many points of view like picture of the Maghreb. The musicians are healing from Morocco and throughout their way of playing, they reinforce the North-African influence, Phil Von always injects in his different releases (with Von Magnet and Atlas Project). This one comes closer to world-music, but you may also call it tribal (cf. "Hicham Bilali"), approximately trance (cf. "Transe incolore") or ritual (cf. "La parole"). The cultures are even meeting together on "Fés Mejdoub" with traditional soundscapes. A lot of voices and very different noises have been sampled, recreating a kind of impression from the daily life in the streets and markets of Morocco."

L. Hortobágyi - Ritual Music Of Fomal Hoot Al-Ganoubî (Erdenklang, Cross Culture, 1994)

Fomal-Hoot al-Ganoubi is an mythological Arabian constellation.
The first description of the music which flourished in that distant gloomy world could be find in the "Kitab al-Algani" ("Song of Book") by Abu'l Faraq al-Isfahani (died: 967) and the last was accessible in the "Al-Risala al-sarafiyya fi'L-nisab al-ta'lifiyya Fomal-Hoot al-Ganoubi" by Maulana Galal al-Din Rumi (1207-1273) which was his last book and lost by now.
This book enclose an exclusive rescription of the connection between an extraterrestrial world and the musical traditions of the Earth. It also involves the outline of a peculiar calligraphic language of Fomal-Hoot based on the rhythmical periods of the metrical and accented consonants.
Music composed, programmed, played and produced by Lāszlō Hortobāgyi
Recorded and mixed by L. Hortobāgyi at the Gāyan Uttejak Studio, Budapest.
Subtitled: "Annales Of Gáyan Uttejak Society".
Recorded in 1992.

Miso Ensemble - Live @ Central Tejo, Lisboa (24.Jun.1993)

Miso Ensemble is essentially, a duo of flute and percussion with electronic in real time. In 1985, Miso Ensemble was founded by the percussionist and composer Miguel Azguime and by the flute player and composer Paula Azguime.
Distinguished for their program’s originality and the diversity of their musical work, the latter reflects an approach that relies on the multifaceted capabilities of its members (composers, instrumentalists and improvisers), this duo has built for itself a unique path. In this way, Miso Ensemble has re-affirmed since its creation a new way of doing and thinking music; where composition and improvisation are tools used to create a distinct music; where the use of electronic in real time complements and extends upon the acoustic instrument. This has given place to pioneering work of investigation and creation in the field of electronic music.

Robert Glassburner - Fagote

István Mártha - The Wind Rises (Electropleinair Sound Dairy) (ReR Megacorp, 1998)

Istvan Martha is a Hungarian composer who released two underground cult records of the 1980s: Hearts and The Wind Rises (1987). The latter was recorded live in the countryside by a group of rock, jazz and classical musicians, and it features sounds of the countryside itself (nature, people, traditional music). The album in its entirety sounds like a tribute to the life of rural people. The music, far from being merely pastoral and elegiac, is also a veiled, allegorical attack against communism, the oppressive regime of the time. The eight-minute introduction, The Wind Rises, is a free-form collage of natural and instrumental sounds. The traditional folk lament of Ruin acquires a much deeper meaning in the hands of the improvisers. Ditto for the driving dance of Kapolcs Alarm. These pieces exude a violence and a frustration that have little in common with the lives of the peasants.

Originally recorded and released in Hungary in 1987 as KREM SLPX 17963 by Hungaraton..

Muslimgauze - Wish Of The Flayed MP3 (MUSLIMTAPE 01, 1996)

Time to come out of the old dusty box for an album by Muslimgauze
named 'Wish of the Flayed' that has for a long time remained under wraps. Bryn Jones himself gave this album on cassette tape to Steven Wilson (Bass Communion) during their first meeting on the 3rd of june 1996; the album having been recorded the day before. (One day for making a whole album is not so surprising for Muslimgauze..). The master DAT had, seemingly, not been sent to any label, so this recording is the only proof of the existence of the album.
Recorded at the Abraham Mosque, Sunday June 3nd 1996.
