Systemwide Meets Muslimgauze - Nommos' Return 10'' (BSI Records, 2000)

This record represents the third and final chapter in the Systemwide Meets Muslimgauze saga a sonic clash between two heavyweights from two different worlds.
This 10" record, limited to 2000 heavyweight vinyl-only copies (lovingly handcrafted in original rubber-stamped dubplate style) contains two amazing and otherwise unavailable tracks from the Lo-fi India abuse tapes.
Both are "re-mixs" of Nommos from Systemwide's Sirius CD.

Muslimgauze - Bhutto CDs (Extreme, 1991)

'Bhutto' combines a radio edit and album version of the track 'Benazir Bhutto' from 'Zul'm' and a mix of 'Shiva Hooka'. The title track, in both its forms, is a pleasant, bubbly piece of Arabic-influenced music: a gentle rhythm has rising and falling lines, bird-like twitterings and subtle vocals. Interesting but it sails past like a sunny day: perhaps this is the Benazir Bhutto of an admirer, rather than the Virgin Iron-Pants of Salman Rushdie's 'Shame'. The 'Radio Rabbat Remix' by Sean Kelly is a nice summary of the longer piece, and could get extensive air-play. 'Shiva Hooka (1000 Nights Mix)' is more interesting as tentative tom strikes attempt to develop a rhythm, winds echo through, echoing machinery rumbles through the background occasionally, producing a dark minimalist landscape.
All tracks composed/performed by Muslimgauze.
Track two is from the forthcoming album Zul'm.

Zorawar Singh on Arabic percussion & vocals.
Said Nasser on Indian percussion & vocals.
Engineering & keyboards by Mark Lawrence.
Recorded & mixed at Digital Project by Muslimgauze & Mark Lawrence.
Radio Rabbat Remix at SMART by Sean Kelly.
Extreme Graphics images by Dale Nason.

Muslimgauze - Iranian Female Olympic Table Tennis Team Theme (Staalplaat, 1999)

Already recorded in 1996, this is a rather odd ball for Muslimgauze.
One epic piece (33:15 minutes) of lo-fi droning sound (kinda like Azzazin), and with an added rhythm. Just one long flowing piece, without the harsh textures of the Arabic beats.
Special packaged CD on a table tennis paddle in a plastic bag.
Limited edition of 500.

Muslimgauze - Fakir Sind (Soleilmoon Recordings, 1999)

Fakir Sind is one of the first posthumous Muslimgauze titles to see release, emblazoned with strikingly screen-printed glyphs and overflowing with the electrifying percussive experiments that are a Muslimgauze hallmark. In addition to the expected webs of dub-distorted Middle Eastern hand percussion, acoustic instrumentation, and drifting vocal obstinate, such tracks as "Fakir of Gwalior" also find Jones dabbling with the ear-twisting digital delay war page that marks his latter work. More unexpected is Jones' prominent use of peacock voices. Their squawks and squabbles can be heard among the patter of hand drums and vocal loops, adding to this remarkable disc's authentically exotic flavor.

The Rootsman meets Muslimgauze - Al-Aqsa Intifada (Third Eye Music, 2002)

Six tracks all of the same title, just different remixes. There are two Muslimgauze mixes at the end of the CD.
This is some up beat drum and bass sounding Muslimgauze sampled material. It remains in the same Muslimgauze theme, but musically sequenced with added funky bass lines.
The second track again, similar to the first, resides in a drum and bass field. This has some interesting psychedelic sounding qualities. A good stereo system would do this track nicely. It is a little more dubby than the first, and with added echo effects.
Tracks three and four are the furthest away from the Muslimgauze sound. They all have elements of dub, but more in the techno domain. This is purely tribal techno. Each track becomes a little more experimental.
Track five and six are clearly Muslimgauze sounds. Still remaining upbeat and in series with the other remixes/mixes. The last two tracks present a nice contrast from Bryn Jones' ambient works and his drum and bass counterparts. Track six presents another dance oriented remix from Bryn Jones.
Written, mixed and produced by The Rootsman and Muslimgauze.
Recorded at Third Eye Studio, Bradford, UK.
Limited edition of 500.
