V/A - Music To Be Murdered By (Bruits Blancs, 1991)

Bruits Blancs was created in 1990, as a promotional struture for 3 different independent labels, all based in Nancy, east of France: Les Disques Du Soleil Et De L'Acier, Permis De Construire and Van D'Oeuvre.

This structure also includes a recording studio (C.C.A.M.) and is associated (or initiator) to musical events, one of them being Musique Action International, a yearly festival dedicated to 'new music'.

Although each of these record labels has its own identity and strategy, they all have in common a desire to present new and experimental music of possibly little commercial signifiance, to an audience not satisfied with the safe and the predicable.

'Music To Be Murdered By' is a concrete alternative to present different songs and noises, arranged or deranged by musicians who, for one or another, do not want to be absorbed in the mainstream of s self-indulgent recording industry.

Therefore, you'll find here bands and so-called artists who emerged from the Nancy area (and may not record for one or another of these 3 labels) but also bands who are not from this area (from Paris to Berlin, through Vernet Les Bains!!!) but decided to collaborate with a Nancy based label.

As we know there is collector sleeping in each of you, all the songs from 'Music To Be Murdered By' are unavailable elsewhere. And this is a limited edition of 1000 copies.
