Zone - Alien Nature (Potentia Records, 2005)

"Zone's latest CD 'Alien Nature' is their most organic album by far, in the sense that it has developed from a central idea of a piece, eschewing artificiality of approach in favour of an electronic world with real blood in its veins and a musical heartbeat that, though erratic, is human and strong. What Zone is doing here is entertaining, involving and elusive, deconstructing their legacy whilst foreshadowing another. It's hard to describe, but meta-industrial meets neo-classical comes close, the sound of the machine age making peace with itself and rediscovering mystery. A revolution of the soul of this very unusual musical presence takes place that, more than even before, has resulted in a work of not just power but also beauty."
The title 'Alien Nature' was inspired by Andrew, while working on a holiday snap that eventually spawned the the images used for the CD artwork. The photograph was of a earthenware 'Spirit of the Forest' face, taken while on vacation in woods of southern Ohio, USA. Processed and magnified minute details of the image took on a new life that helped unify the musical tracks that Zone had been working on over the previous two years, into 'Alien Nature'.
Released on Potentia (catalogue No.ZONE CD006) in July 2005 on CD format only, in an initial edition of 500 copies.

Zone - Angel Of Freedom (Potentia Records, 2000)

The title 'Angel Of Freedom' was inspired by Andrew. The concept of 'Angel Of Freedom' represents the unifying principle of love which moves everything towards ultimate enlightenment and freedom. From an individual perspective this may not always be apparent (veiled in mystery), hence a leap of faith is required. The 'Angel Of Freedom' therefore represents the bridge between individual fate and ultimate destiny. Consequently, it was deemed appropriate to credit ‘Angel Of Freedom’ as being:
"inspired by those persons, throughout time, who have sacrificed their lives
to the pursuit of Knowledge, Love & freedom"
Released on Potentia (catalogue No.ZONE CD005) in May 2000 on CD format only, in an initial edition of 500 copies, and distributed through World Serpent Distribution, 'Angel Of Freedom' is Zone's 4th album, released almost 6 years after 'The Divine Simplicity.'

Zone - Sword Of The Sun (Potentia Records, 1992)

Originally released by Potentia Records (catalogue No.ZONE 001) as a 12" black vinyl LP on 1st July 1988 and reissued in February 1989 in a further edition of approximately 550 copies.
In 1992 'Sword Of The Sun' was re-issued in CD format (catalogue No. ZONE CD001) on Potentia Recordings and distributed through World Serpent Distribution.
This edition consisted of two pressing runs of a 1000 copies per run.
The CD itself was printed with the project logo, gold on black.
The name 'Sword Of The Sun' was taken from the title of a chapter from Italo Calvino's book 'Mr.Palomar'. The particular section of writing which inspired it's use, reads:
"When the Sun begins to go down, its reflection takes form on the sea: from the horizon all the way to the shore a dazzling patch extends composed of countless swaying glints; the sun’s reflection becomes a shining sword in the water...
Matter becomes receptive to light, is differentiated into living tissues, and all of a sudden an eye, a multitude of eyes, burgeons, reburgeons."
All titles from 1988, except track 12 from 1992.
